REEF has a wide variety of opportunities, tools, and resources for formal and informal educators. These include:
Education Advisory Panel - a group of volunteer educators who contribute to REEF’s education efforts and programs by providing feedback and insight. The EAP meets periodically to discuss topics, provide a robust review and input to the Ocean Explorers Program, and advance citizen science participation.
Educator in the Field Fellowship - an exciting professional development opportunity for formal and informal educators to gain hands-on experience with ocean citizen science. The Fellowship is awarded annually, and enables one or more qualified educator to participate in a REEF Field Survey Trip.
Ocean Explorers Programs - a large portfolio of in-person and virtual programs.
Teacher Workshops - In person and virtual workshops to support teacher involvement in REEF's education programs.
Teacher Credit Opportunities - education credits available from University of California at San Diego for participation in REEF Field Survey Trips and other Explorers Education Programs.
